The Rev. John Zimmerman is thinking “cannonball.”

A cannonball is a diving technique when you pull your knees up to your chest and grab them with both hands. Zimmerman won’t be diving, but he is hoping to make a big splash by running, pulling off a cannonball, and jumping into Alice Lake in Mead Park in Corry Sunday afternoon.

Zimmerman, the pastor at the First United Methodist Church in Corry for eight years, is going to plunge into the cold water for a good cause.

“It’s craziness,” Zimmerman said. “It took a little bit of convincing to get me to agree to jump in the freezing cold lake.”
