Attention, all boaters.

In Pennsylvania, all operators of personal watercraft, including jet skiis, waverunners and Sea Doos, and all boat operators born after Jan. 1, 1982, who operate a boat with a motor greater than 25 horsepower are required to have a Pennsylvania Boating Safety Education Certificate in their possession when operating.

A free boating course will be offered Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Corry Higher Education Council, 221 N, Center St.

This 8-hour course is designed to help boaters reduce the risk of injury and conflict on the water.

A current boating handbook is included with the course.

Boaters will be required to take and pass a multiple choice test for completion. After a passing grade is obtained, they wil receive the necessary form to mail in a $10 check or money order to the Pennsylvania Boat and Fish Commission to receive a certification that may also provide a reduction in boating insurance premiums.

Participants will be given 60 minutes for a lunch break.

Register by calling the hi-ed council at 664-9405.
