There’s bad news and good news concerning the city of Corry’s expected allotment of state block grant funds.

The bad news is that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development originally cut back funding for Community Development Block Grants nationwide by more than $600 million, or about 16.5 percent. Using that formula, the city, which usually receives about $350,000, would get only about $296,000.
