Agendas for the Union City Area School Board meetings will now be posted online for the public to view prior to a meeting.

The agendas will be available on the Union City Area School District website by the end of the workday the day before each meeting.

To access the agenda, go to, hover over the District Information tab and select School Board. Go to the right of the page where it says School Board Minutes and scroll down to School Board Agendas. Click on the link for the meeting date.

The board meets twice a month. Committee-of-the-whole (nonvoting) meetings are held the first Thursday of the month, except for July and December.

The regular voting meetings are held the second Thursday of the month, except for July and December. The December meeting is held following the reorganization meeting, which is Dec. 5 this year.

Committee-of-the whole and regular meetings are held at 6 p.m. in the large-group instruction room of Union City Elementary School, 91 Miles St.

At the board’s April meeting, a motion to post the agendas died for lack of a second, but the board did not abandon the idea. Matthew Bennett, superintendent of the Union City Area School District, said the board has decided posting the meetings is the direction the board wants to take.
