The Corry Area School Board approved several personnel items at a special meeting Monday at the administration office.

The board OK’d the retirement of Debra Bullington, who has served the district for 18 years.

The board also approved the hourly rates for temporary help during the summer. Workers with the most experience will be paid $9 per hour, while those with the least experience will be paid $8.50 per hour.

Two foreign exchange students were approved to attend Corry Area Middle-High School for the 2014-15 school year.

Rieke Weiss is from Germany. Her host family will be Phil and Tammy Stec of Corry.

Grytsje Van Der Ploeg is from the Netherlands. She will live with Deborah and Leonard Baker of Corry.

The board approved these nondistrict Category I volunteers:

• Timothy Linkerhof, Joseph Marrs, Terry Mitchell and John Yasko Jr., all for the Rec League Football program for the 2014-15 season.

• Melissa Lyon, Jocelyn Martson and Joann Scouten, all for the cheerleading program for the 2014-15 school year.

Mary Jane Davis (nondistrict) was appointed assistant band director for the 2014-15 school year at a supplemental salary of $I,820.

Ryan E. Kelly was awarded tenure for having satisfactorily completed three years of service with the Corry School District.

Voting to approve all items were Mike Baker, Steve Drake, Lonny Eastman, Joe Frisina, Doris Gernovich, Linda Hajec and Deborah Wood.

Amy Allen and Delbert Liller were excused from attending the meeting.

Unless another special meeting is called, the board will not meet again until 7 p.m. on Aug. 4 — just three and a half weeks before the start of a new school year.
