Eighteen freshmen from Corry Area High School can now call themselves authors. And soon, they will be published.

An impressive achievement for young students, but Ryan McBriar said his Honors English 9 class was more than eager to get started when they found out they would be writing a novel.

"If I didn't have those computers unlocked when they came into class, they would be chomping at the bit," McBriar said. "Some days it was complete silence in here except for the banging of the computer keys."

This is the first time McBriar challenged his students to this particular assignment, which he is pleased to report went remarkably well.
