Rick Thomas never met LeRoy Wilton Homer Jr.

And never will.

Homer was first officer on United Airlines Flight 93, which was hijacked by four terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001. The brave actions of the 40 crew members and passengers aboard the Boeing 757 prevented the terrorists from crashing into the White House or U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Instead, the 40 “heroes” forced a crash landing in a field near Shanksville, Pa. All, including the 36-year-old Homer, were killed.
