UNION CITY — The Union City Police Department is expected to go online with Erie County 911 Dispatch at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

As a result, Union City Police Chief Kevin Jones wants the public to be aware of new phone numbers to be used only in a nonemergency situation.

“Obviously, in an emergency situation, they should dial 9-1-1,” Jones said.

In a nonemergency situation, the public should call (814) 452-1234 to contact the Union City Police through the county.

Also, a direct line to the police may be used in a nonemergency situation. That number remains 438-3441. That number may be used to reach the police station in a nonemergency on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon.

The new numbers and hours of contact will also be included in the borough’s tax bills when they are mailed.

The Union City Police Department has five officers. Three of them are full time and two are part time.
