Memories of Corry days gone by

Taree (Dodd) Schrubb shares the above photo with Journal readers. The picture is of Schrubb’s father, Merle Dodd, in front of his Columbus childhood home. Dodd, who is 12 years old in the picture, is with his pony, Betty, and his dog, Slivers. Schrubb reports that when Dodd’s sister was born, the family did not know what to name her. Apparently Dodd said, “Why not name her Betty?” They listened and Dodd’s sister would eventually be known as Betty (Dodd) Carter.
