Brandie Phennicie is glad to be back home.

The former Brandie Marsh, a 2002 graduate of Corry Area High School, has been hired as the Journal’s new junior account executive.

“I love it here. The people are so welcoming,” said Phennicie, who recently moved from Waterford Township to Corry with her husband, Hunter, and her 5-year-old son, Ayden, and her stepson, Ryen, 7.

In her new position, Phennicie will work in-house on Journal promotional advertising, printing sales, and advertising for the Journal’s Web site at

Journal General Manager Bob Williams said Phennicie will be learning the structure of the Journal’s sales department.

“We’re glad to have her,” Williams said.

After graduating from Corry, she attended classes at the International Academy of Design and Technology in downtown Pittsburgh. She most recently was employed as a home health aide for Bayada Nurses of Erie.

Phennicie, who enjoys photography in her spare time, said she is enjoying her job.

“I’m getting into the groove of things,” she said. “Now I can see why I came back. I see a lot of opportunities here.”

She is the daughter of Bob And Crystal Ginn of Corry.

Williams said having a hometown person working for Corry’s hometown newspaper is a perfect combination.

“It’s the best way,” Williams said.
