February's "Third Thursday" event, sponsored by Impact Corry, will take place on Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Bracken Room at Corry Higher Education Council, 221 N. Center St.
James Grunke, president and CEO of Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership (ERCGP), will be coming to town for "Coffee & Conversation" with local business owners.
Third Thursdays is a series of presentations for Corry business owners that is focused squarely on helping them achieve and maintain success.
Some flexibility in the scheduling will be given if there is deemed a particularly good presentation available on a different day, according to Chuck Gray, Impact Corry community development director. Grunke is slated to speak with the board of the Corry Area Chamber of Commerce also on Tuesday, demonstrating the organizations’ commitment to working together in an effort to advance local businesses.
Event organizers also said Grunke will be drawing from experience in leadership and economic development to share insights and suggestions with local business owners and entrepreneurs.
"My goal is to provide a broader explanation of what ERCGP is and how we can be used as a resource for Corry-area businesses," Grunke said.
He mentioned a five-year economic development plan that he and his staff have established in conjunction with Erie Forward, a countywide program geared toward economic growth and development.
Grunke said he hopes to keep the discussion informal and related to business outreach and educational programs.
"We're keenly interested in Corry's vision for itself," Grunke said.
Grunke and his staff at ERCGP want to support local business owners in their initiatives and areas where they face economic challenges, he said.

The next Third Thursday event will take place on March 19 at the Corry Hi-Ed building. Donnie Rosie and Lydia Spencer of Rosie Marketing will be speaking.
