Swine flu has forced Meadville Medical Center officials to restrict who can visit the hospital's patients, according to the Meadville Tribune.

Children 18 and younger are not permitted to visit patients except in special situations. People with flulike symptoms, such as coughing, sneezing, runny nose, fever, extreme tiredness or muscle aches, also are not allowed to see patients.

Hospital officials requested that only immediate family members and personal caregivers of patients visit the hospital and its physician offices.

Hamot Medical Center and Saint Vincent Health Center have not changed their visitors' policies.
