The Corry Area School Board wound up the end of the school year by acting on several personnel items during the board’s recent regular meeting.

The agenda items included adding a position for a metalworking occupations teacher.

Dana Kruse was hired as a full-time regular professional metalworking occupations teacher for the Corry Career and Technical Center. Kruse was hired at a salary of $40,321, vocational 1, step 7, and will start at the beginning of the 2010-11 school year.

In addition to Kruse, the nine-member board unanimously approved the following:

• a general leave of absence for Jon Beckman, high-school social studies teacher, for the 2010-11 school year, which is from Aug. 23, 2010, to June 3, 2011.

• a letter of resignation from Mary Hammer, Title I school counselor at Corry Elementary School, effective Aug. 16.

• the resignation of Kimberly Bell as a full-time temporary professional Title 1 guidance counselor at Corry Elementary School to replace Hammer. Bell will be paid $43,514 for a master’s degree, step 1. Her position is effective the start of the 2010-11 school year.

• Brian Gresh as the district’s band director for 2010-11 at a supplemental pay of $5,169

• Brian McCowin as the district’s assistant band director for the 2010-11 school year at a supplemental pay of $1,305

• Robert Pennington as the district’s assistant band director, for majorettes, for 2010-11, at a supplemental pay of $1,820

• Laura Terrill as the district’s assistant band director, for silks and rifles, for 2010-11 at a supplemental pay of $1,820

• Gary Johnston as the district’s pep band director for 2010-11 at a supplemental pay of $807

• a letter of resignation from Brian Gresh as stage crew co-adviser effective at the end of the 2009-10 school year
