Work begins on Route 6

Jeff Giulianelli, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation project manager for the Route 6 construction project that began today, stands under a detour sign at the intersection of Route 6 and West Washington Street. The project is located between the intersection and the Corry Drive-in. The work consists of repairs and realigning of the road. Eastbound traffic on Route 6 will not have a detour, but all traffic westbound on Route 6 must follow a posted detour. Traffic will turn north on Conelway Road, then west on Turnpike Road, then south on Route 89, which will bring vehicles back to Route 6. The project is scheduled to be finished by the end of September. Journal photo by Andy Kerstetter
