Red People ‘tag’ 2 local nonprofits

A group that calls itself the “Red People” tagged the Corry Y building with six of its logos that feature a red phoenix, a mythical bird. The group also left nine red markings on the Corry Counseling Services building. Journal photo by Stephen Sears

Two local businesses have been “tagged” by a guerilla campaign known as the “Red People.”

Corry Counseling Services at 45 E. Washington St. and the Corry YMCA at 906 N. Center St. both received graffiti-esque marks on their buildings last weekend. The red marks, which resemble a mythical bird called a phoenix, have come from a group that calls itself the Red People. Their Web site asks three questions — or seems to want its visitors to ask them:

• Who are the Red People?

• Why are they here?

• What do they want?
