Pet Photos with Santa Paws

The second annual Pet Photos with Santa Paws fundraiser will be held at the Purple Peacock Candle Company, 36 N. Center St., Corry, on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Owner of the Purple Peacock, Alice Muir, will be donating the proceeds to the ANNA Shelter.

Local pet owners are invited to bring their pets to the Purple Peacock Candle Company on Saturday for the second annual Pet Photos with Santa Paws fundraiser.

This is the second year that owner of the Purple Peacock Alice Muir has organized the fundraiser which raises money for the ANNA Shelter.

“I just love animals and thought it would be something new and fun to do,” said Muir. “Everyone does photos of their kids with Santa, so why not Santa with pets?”

Anyone who’d like to have a photo of his or her pet with Santa Paws can come to the Purple Peacock, 36 N. Center St., between 9 a.m. and noon on Saturday.

“It should be a lot of fun and I’m hoping we have a good turnout,” Muir added.

Photos will be $5 for one 4 by 6 photo, or two photos for $8. All photos can be picked up next week at the Purple Peacock.

Muir started the fundraiser last year, and she said it was well received by the local community.

“It went really well last year,” she said. “I had no idea what to expect, but we had a lot of pets. I’m hoping this year we can raise more money for the ANNA Shelter.”

Pets of all species are welcome to attend Pet Photos with Santa Paws and greet Santa.

“We want to see any kind of pet,” Muir said. “As long as it can be contained some way, or on a leash. Last year, we had guinea pigs and other unique pets.”

She added that no signups or reservations are required to participate.

“We aren’t having any reserved time slots, anyone can just show up and have their pets picture taken with Santa,” Muir said. “I hope that everyone takes the time to come out, support a great cause and have some fun with their pets.”
