Pumpkin parade promises Halloween fun on Saturday

Journal photo by Stephen Sears, Jenifer Lesher, left, administrative assistant for the Corry Area Chamber of Commerce, and Jill Hall, a Chamber volunteer, get ready to bowl kids over at the annual Pumpkin Parade Saturday morning at the Corry Route 6 Plaza.

Jill Hall has her Corry home ready for Halloween.

“I’ve got three trees all decorated with Halloween lights,” said Hall, whose name even pays partial tribute to the spooky holiday. “I have Halloween decorations in every room. I’ve always loved Halloween.”

There will be lots to love Saturday when the Corry Area Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual Great Pumpkin Parade from 10 a.m. to noon at Corry’s Route 6 Plaza. The Great Pumpkin Parade features a costume contest for children in four separate age groups and trick-or-treating at businesses in the plaza.

Hall, who served on the Chamber board for nine years, is volunteering to help at this year’s event.
