Amateur Fighter Hopes to Swing Corry's Vote

Corry resident Jared Carle performs a grappling technique on Kevin Fox during a mixed martial arts training session at Absolute Fitness in Corry. Carle is one of four finalists trying to win a national Full Time Fighter Experience contest that will send the winner to Las Vegas for one week to train with professional fighters at Xtreme Couture.

Jared Carle will find out in less than a week if he’s the winner of a once-in-a-lifetime contest that would take him to Las Vegas to pursue his dream career.

But he needs the community’s help over the next few days to help him win the ultimate prize.

Carle, a 2001 graduate of Corry Area High School, is one of four finalists in a Full Time Fighter Experience contest that is being sponsored by Fight! magazine.

The winner, which will be determined by a public vote, will be sent on an all-expense paid trip to Las Vegas to train with professional fighters at Xtreme Couture and live in Shawn Tompkins fighter house. Tompkins is a professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter and instructor at Xtreme Couture.

That person will also be featured in Fight! magazine and receive a full set of martial arts training equipment, supplements and spending cash.

Carle, a MMA amateur fighter, and the other three finalists are currently being featured on the Fight! magazine Web site, which allows Web users to cast their vote.

The last day to vote is Friday, when the ballots will be tallied and a winner will be announced soon after.
