City Preps Wayne Street for Paving

Paul Mulligan of the Corry Streets Department digs out a catch basin on Wayne Street near the Raymond Street intersection.

First, it was the construction of Corry Elementary School.

Then, the high cost of asphalt put the damper on.

Paving Wayne Street has been on the city’s radar, but too many obstacles got in the way to do the work in 2007 and 2008.

The third year is the charm.

Wayne Street will get a new asphalt surface this year, and the city’s streets department has been busy preparing the street for its new coat of asphalt.
