On Friday, 33,000 of the 80,000 state employees will come up empty-handed on payday.

But for state employees like state judges, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation workers and state police, the work won’t stop.

Magisterial district judges, including Corry’s Brenda Nichols and Union City’s Carol Southwick, are on the list of state employees who will not be looking at a paycheck stub.
