Even though Halloween is next on the calendar, some local residents are already planning for a different holiday — Christmas.

With the season of shopping, decorating and celebrating just around the bend, two Corry women are hoping to make the season a little less stressful for busy parents.

Beginning Oct. 9, licensed child-care providers Tammy Ricketts and Sherry Catalfu will offer holiday babysitting every Friday from 4 p.m. to midnight through Dec. 18.

“All ages are welcome while you go shopping, out to dinner or to your favorite holiday party,” Ricketts said. “You can take advantage and be rest assured that your children are in great hands.”

The service will be run out of Ricketts home, 217 Franklin St., where she and Catalfu operate a Monday through Friday day care service for established clients. The holiday day care will be open to all parents. The standard fee will be $5 per hour.

Snacks and drinks will be provided, as well as movies, games and crafts.

Parents may send dinner for their child, which will be warmed up for them. However, the meal should be prepared and sent in a microwavable dish.

Ricketts and Catalfu, who have a combined total of 30 years experience, both have their clearances and are registered through the state.
