A 35-year-old man was arrested Thursday afternoon for allegedly masturbating as he drove a truck throughout the city of Corry and passed a juvenile female walking by a former school.
Aaron G. Jones, of Corry, faces four misdemeanor charges stemming from the reported incident.
Corry City Police were dispatched to the area of East South and Concord streets, near the formerConcord Elementary School, for a report of open lewdness and indecent exposure at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
The caller - a 14-year-old female - who reported the incident stated a white male drove past her while masturbating.
Once on location, the juvenile girl told police that a man with dirty blonde hair and scruffy beard in a red truck drove past her on two separate occasions as he masturbated according to an affidavit of probable cause filed with the police criminal complaint.
The affidavit states the victim said she observed the man's penis in his hand as he drove past her.
As officers were speaking with the victim, a red truck approached the intersection of East South and Concord streets and the juvenile identified it as the vehicle in question returning to the area.
Police located the truck a short distance away and initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of North Center Street and West Park Place.
The affidavit states Jones was identified as the driver and he was sweating profusely as police advised him of the open lewdness complaint, at which time he did not deny the allegation.
Jones agreed to be interviewed at the city's police station and consented to provide a video statement at about 4:44 p.m.
During his statement, Jones freely admitted to having his pants down and masturbating while driving around the city. Jones stated he did not drive past the 14-year-old victim intentionally but acknowledged that he drove in the area several times.
Police took Jones into custody and he was placed in a cell to await criminal charges based on his and the victim's statements. He was charged with indecent exposure and corruption of minors, both first-degree misdemeanors, as well as open lewdness and disorderly conduct, both third-degree misdemeanors.
Jones was placed in Erie County Prison and was arraigned Friday morning by District Judge Susan Strohmeyer who set his bail at $5,000. He has since posted bail and is scheduled to appear before District Judge Denise Buell at 3:45 p.m. on Oct. 8.
