2-car crash on Route 6

Corry City Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident on Route 6 in front of Corry Lumber, 630 E. Columbus Ave., Corry, at about 4:09 p.m. on Tuesday. Once on location, officers made contact with one of the drivers and multiple witnesses. Police said Kenneth Peterson, 28, of Union City, was driving east on Route 6 when he fell asleep at the wheel and struck another vehicle head-on. The other vehicle was operated by Malissa Smith, 58, of Corry. Police said Peterson had three juvenile children in his vehicle, and everyone involved was transported to Corry Memorial Hospital, an affiliate of LECOM Health, for evaluation. Peterson will be cited for multiple traffic violations. Corry Fire Department and Corry Ambulance also responded to the scene.
