The winners of an ugly Christmas sweater contest have been decided.
Corry Lumber & True Value Hardware's annual holiday competition netted a total of 13 entries and Asher Harrington was declared the winner with a total of 52 votes.
The top prize was a new grill.
"It was close," said Shelby Weingard, Corry Lumber and True Value Hardware employee and contest coordinator. "There was only a difference of five votes between first and second place.
With a total of 47 votes, Vanessa Vona won the second place spot. Vona's prize was a $20 gift card to the store.
Coming in third place was Kiera Knight, who received a total of 27 votes and a $10 gift card to the store.
For three days, Corry-area residents were invited to bring their best — or worst — holiday sweaters, have their picture taken and be entered into the contest, where customers chose the winners.
Store patrons had seven days to cast their vote for their favorite entry.
To vote, customers were required to donate one nonperishable food item for the Corry Area Food Pantry, make a monetary donation to the Salvation Army of Corry or make an in-store purchase.
The contest netted a total of more than 150 food items and $55 in donations.
