Numerous business and personnel items will be considered this evening during a regular meeting of Corry Area School Board members.

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in the large-group instruction room of the Corry Area School District administration building.

The first item on a long list of business will be a motion to approve the purchase, design and installation of bleachers for the Corry Area Middle-High School's west gymnasium - also known as the “old gym” - through a cooperative purchasing network.

The bleacher project is to be paid for through the Capital Reserve Fund at an approximate cost of $125,000.

Board members will also vote on the installation of new wall padding for both of the middle-high school's gyms. The project includes the purchase, design and installation of wall padding for the east and west gyms through a cooperative purchasing network to be paid for through the Capital Reserve Fund at an approximate cost of $20,000.

The next item of business will be an EFIS restoration project. The board will consider giving authorization to go out for bids for the EFIS restoration of the middle-high school building.

Insurance renewals with Rossbacher Insurance Group for the 2020-2021 fiscal year and a repository property bid in Columbus Township will also be up for approval.

Personnel items will include requests to approve a leave of absence for an elementary school teacher, the resignation of two assistant coaches, the addition of a volunteer coach and  a list of teachers for an after-school Achievement Club.

Board members will also consider the approval of two field trip requests - one for the varsity baseball team to travel to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and one for the third-grade end-of-the-year trip to Peek n' Peak.

School board members will review Board Policy Section 100 revisions and updates, which will be up for approval at the next regular board meeting on Feb. 24.

Following any comments from the public at the start of the meeting, there will be a presentation on Diversified Occupations and Capstone Cooperative Education Programs.

Prior to the regular meeting, the board of directors will meet as a Committee of the Whole at 6 p.m. today in the conference room of the CASD administration office for Finance and Operations as well as Education and Student Services.

Board and board committee meetings are open to the public.
