Corry Area School Board members approved a handful of personnel items during Monday's board meeting.

A request for a leave of absence from Lisa M. Weis, first-grade teacher at Corry Area Primary School, was approved. Anticipated leave dates are from March 20 through June 1 for a total of 46 days.

A request for a medical sabbatical for the second semester of the 2015-16 school year from Kimberly Rowland, middle-school special education learning support teacher, was approved. 

Frank Snyder (nondistrict) was appointed to the position of girls softball assistant co-coach for the 2015-16 year at a supplemental pay rate of $1,139.

Chad Wiler was added to the substitute list for the 2015-16 school year to fill the positions of custodial, clerical or aide. 

Under new business, board members approved the expulsion of a middle-school student as recommended by the board's hearing committee due to violations of district policies. A hearing on the matter was held on Nov. 18.

A surplus of football jerseys was approved as excess property and will be disposed of through donations or to students or moved to trash.
