Corry City Police

 

. Sometime after business hours on Sept. 6, an unknown person spoofed H&R Block's number and made numerous telephone calls over the weekend, according to Corry City Police. H&R Block would like to remind people that it does not call people this time of year.

 

. A Corry man reported that an unknown person attempted to steal a 6-foot decorative metal rooster from his yard at 947 W. Smith St., Corry, sometime after midnight on Sept. 9. The suspect was able to get away with the head and torso part since it's a three-piece item. The stolen parts are valued at $200.

 

. A Columbus man reported the theft of prescription medication from his vehicle that occurred at an undetermined location in Corry between Aug. 29 and Sept. 4. The retail value of the stolen medication is $452.

 

Union City Police

 

. An officer was driving east on Parade Street near the intersection with Cherry Street at about 3:05 p.m. Sept. 5, at which time he stopped to make contact with two males who were walking in the roadway where a sidewalk was available for use. Upon making contact, the officer smelled an odor of marijuana coming from their persons. A search of one of the males, identified as Robert Borland, 24, of Union City, yielded two plastic bags containing a small amount of marijuana. Borland was taken into custody and transported to the Union City police station where he was processed and later released. He will answer to the charges of possession of a controlled substance and pedestrians walking along or on a highway.

 

Pennsylvania State Police

 

. BLOOMFIELD - State police at Corry said a motor vehicle crash occurred as George F. Whiteneck, 55, of Union City, drove off the north side of Mount Pleasant Road, east of Weed Road, at 1 a.m. Sept. 7. Whiteneck's 2000 Ford Crown Victoria traveled through a tree line, hit an embankment and came to rest at the bottom of a ravine. Police said Whiteneck was wearing his seatbelt. He suffered injuries and multiple airbags were deployed as a result of the crash. Leroy's Towing assisted at the scene.

 

UNION CITY - State police at Corry said Ashley R. Fielding, 35, of Union City, stole merchandise from Tops Friendly Market, 19-21 E. High St., Union City, at 7:17 a.m. Sept. 9. The stolen merchandise included a weather pad lock, shampoo and conditioner.
