• A daughter, Olivia Hope Saxman, was born on May

31, 2019, at UPMC Hamot Women’s Hospital to Jenna

Marie Blaede of Corry and Ryan Bruce Saxman of Elgin.

Paternal grandparents are Larry and Melissa Saxman of

Elgin. Maternal grandparents are Julie Proper, David

Duryee Sr. of Corry, and Jason Blaede and Melissa

Eliason, both of Union City. Paternal great-grandparents

are Jeff and Libby McCray of Bear Lake. Maternal great-grandparents

are Chris E. Doutt of Corry and Sallie

Ormsbee and Skip Monnin, both of Palmbay, Florida.

Glenn Mead Day

• Glenn Mead Day will be held on Sunday, Aug. 11,

from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Mead Park. The event will

include a 37th annual cruise-in (in memory of Tom

Morton) by Street Machines Unlimited, pony rides, petting

zoo, wagon rides, CMH annual baked goods auction,

music, bingo, train ride and obstacle course. There

will be craft vendors and food vendors. The Corry Area

Historical Museum will be open for tours. A Kiwanis

Duck Race will be held at 3 p.m. For more information,

Lindstrom reunion

• A 90th annual Lindstrom reunion will be held on

Sunday, Aug. 11, at the Spartansburg Fairgrounds.

Family members are being asked bring a casserole,

dessert and own table service. Drinks will be provided.

Thursday in the Park

• Lucky Dog will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday in the

Corry City Park gazebo as part of the Thursday in the

Park summer concert series. Audience members are

encouraged to bring a chair or blanket. This event is presented

annually by the Corry Area Arts Council. In the

event of inclement weather, an alternate location will be

announced via the council's Facebook page or on its

Clymer Historical society to feature guest speaker

• Clymer Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting

at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, at the museum, 358

Clymer-Corry Road, Clymer, New York. Michael Ganske

will speak on the role of intelligence in the

Revolutionary War. The public is invited to attend.

Sit and Be Fit

• Sit and Be Fit, a chair exercise program, will be held

Mondays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. at the First

Presbyterian Church, 607 W. Smith St., Corry. This program

focuses on balance, strength and flexibility. This

program is free and takes place in an air conditioned

room.

Pond Meisters to meet

• The next Pond Meister meeting will be on Saturday,

Aug. 10 at 5 p.m. This month, the group will be meeting

the new owners of Hilltop Hatcheries, Holly and

Jim Vollant. Hilltop Hatcheries sells pond fish and

related pond supply items. They also have a variety

of water lilies, aquatic plants and other shoreline

plants for purchase. Group members are being asked

to meet in front of the store at 5 p.m. The group will

caravan up to George Kirik's ponds on King Road

from there. Hilltop Hatcheries is located at 12141

Route 6 between Corry and Union City. It is across

the street from the Corry Auto Auction. Members are

being asked to bring a lawn chair and wear good

walking shoes.
