The week before Christmas, Material Scrappers 4-H Sewing Club led sing-along caroling for about 25 residents of the Suites at Rousein Youngsville.

They were accompanied by leader Virginia Loizeaux on guitar.

Special performances included Melissa and Katelyn Bennett playing solos on the piano and walking their Great Pyrenees dog, Olaf, around for residents to pat and hug;  Emilienne Turbide singing “Silent Night” in Swedish;  the Hutchings sisters, Emily, Lillian, and Samara, demonstrating their skills with hula-hoops; and a duet by Katelyn Bennett and Tess Doty.

Club members then served cider and homemade cookies to their audience, followed by their own gift exchange and party.

The club’s next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 26 at the Extension Office.
