The first Prayer Walk in Union City will be held Sunday, Sept. 20, starting at 2 p.m.
The Union City Ministerium is hosting the 2-mile walk to benefit the Union City Food Pantry and the Emergency Food Voucher Program.
All of the funds raised through the Prayer Walk stay in the Union City community.
Anyone wishing to participate in the walk is asked to obtain financial sponsorship. Sponsorship forms should be available at Union City churches on Sunday, Sept. 6. If a form is not available, ask your pastor about getting forms.
The walk is being held instead of the previous CROP Walk for Hunger.
Participants will meet at the Full Gospel Church Outreach Center, also known as the Game Room, next to the former diner, at 2 p.m. Walkers will turn in their sponsorship forms and donations prior to the walk.
Anyone who would like to donate money and/or nonperishable food items to benefit the Union City Food Pantry may do so at the Full Gospel Outreach Center between 2 and 3:30 p.m. the day of the walk.
Anyone who is unable to walk for 2 miles is encouraged to stay at the outreach center and join a time of prayer.
Light refreshments will be served when the walkers return.
