Women’s Support Group to meet

• Women’s Support Group meets today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. This is an earlier start time compared to usual meetings. The group will be holding a Blue Zones purpose workshop in the public meeting room of Corry Memorial Hospital, an affiliate of LECOM Health. All are welcome to attend.

Comedy night

• A comedy night will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Corry Elks Club. The evening will feature three comedians. Tickets cost $25 per couple and are available at the Corry Elks Club or The Corry Journal.

Hiring event

• Ellwood National Forge, which oversees Corry Forge, 441 E. Main St., will be holding a hiring event on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hi-Ed Building, 221 N. Add Category, Enhanced, Document View to PA Vehicle Inspection License

• If you already have a valid Pennsylvania inspection license and want to add another category, this is your opportunity. Study on your own, and join us on Oct. 24 to take the written test. The cost is $80 for one category/$120 for two categories. Also, earn certifications that will allow you to inspect or document reconstructed, flood, specially constructed, recovered theft, collectible, modified vehicles, and street rods, for purposes of titling a vehicle in Pennsylvania. Add the Enhanced or Document Review Category to your inspection license for $40 each. This special testing session will be held on Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Corry Career and Technical Education Center from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Registration and payment required by Thursday, Oct. 17.
