Mong Retires from U.S. Navy

 

Chief Jamie J. Mong recently retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of active duty.

A ceremony was held at the Bureau of Naval Personnel in Dallas, Texas.

Mong was born and raised in Corry, and graduated from Corry Area High School in 1989.

In 1990, he was assigned to the Seabees in California. Shortly thereafter, he was assigned to the Administrative Support Unit in Bahrain, Middle East, serving one year in Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

Mong also served in Hawaii as the Admiral’s Driver, and in Puerto Rico and Gulfport, Miss.
