Gem City Jazz Ensemble

Under the direction of Jim Caspar, the 22-member Gem City Jazz Ensemble, will offer a Shrove Tuesday performance on Feb. 9 from 7 to 8:15 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church Parish Center on 23rd and Peach streets. Selections will include Count Basie’s “Fun Time” and “St. Louis Blues,” Jimmy Van Heusen’s “Here’s That Rainy Day” and Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely.” The concert is free and open to the public. A free will donation to benefit St. John’s will be accepted. There is plenty of off-street parking, including spaces for retirement home vans and wheelchair accessibility.
