Two Corry actresses were the guest speakers during a recent meeting of the College Women’s Club.
Amanda Fielding and Kim Kimmy, both of whom recently attended training to become directors for Missoula Children’s Theatre, shared some information about their experiences.
Each year, MCT travels around the nation to train local youths in the area of theater.
The training lasts one week and concludes with a public musical performance.
MCT has been coming to Corry for many years working with many students, including Fielding and Kimmy.
This summer, the two girls decided to attend a six-week MCT training in Missoula, Mont., to become directors for the organization.
While there, they trained in acting, improv, dance and speech.
Fielding’s greater interest is in music, while Kimmy’s is in acting.
Fielding is a homeschooled student, while Kimmy is a senior at Corry Area High School.
A short business meeting followed the girls’ presentation.
Fran Church announced that there were three recipients of grants that will be used toward furthering education.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Michele’s Restaurant.
The topic for the evening will be a recent trip to Greece that was taken by several members of the group.
