Warren County 4-H horse members recently participated in the District IX 4-H Horse Show at the Western Pennsylvania Quarter Horse Association Show Complex in Harlansburg.

Numerous members placed in their respective classes and some are headed to the State 4-H Horse Show to be held at the State Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg October 23 to 25.

The following members placed in their classes.

• English grooming & showmanship, jr. — 5th place, Stephanie Puckly of Spartansburg; 8th place, Tara Sleeman of Russell.

• English grooming & showmanship, sr. — 6th place, Elyse Clement of Pittsfield; 8th place, Jordan Wood of Corry.

• Open trail, ponies — 8th place, Katie Downey of Warren

• Open trail, horse — 8th place, Stephanie Puckly

• English pleasure pairs — 2nd place, Emily Baker of Corry and Stephanie Puckly

• Stock seat equitation, sr. — 5th place, Amanda Breon of Grand Valley

• Western pleasure, ponies — 5th place, Dustie Goodwill of Corry

• Pole bending, ponies — 5th place, Katie Woodin of Bear Lake

• Pole bending, horses — 4th place, Kristy Holden of Sheffield

• Clover leaf barrel race, ponies — 4th place, Katie Woodin; 8th place, Kristina Weikert of Warren

• Raised box keyhole, ponies — 4th place, Katie Woodin

• Raised box keyhole, horses — 6th place, Tyler Drake of Grand Valley; 7th place, Crystal Lewis of Sugar Grove

• Working hunter, ponies — 3rd place, Katie Downey

• Cutback horses — 2nd place, Ashley Carter of Russell

• Beginner walk/trot pleasure horses — 8th place, Emma Lewis of North East

• Saddle seat road hack horses/pony — 1st place, Elyse Clement

• Green working hunter — 3rd place, Francis Suppa

Qualifiers for the state show include, Elyse Clement in saddle seat equitation and saddle seat pleasure horses; Kristy Holden in pole bending horses; and Katie Woodin in clover leaf barrel races and raised box keyhole.

Dustie Goodwill of Corry has qualified with her production animal, Destarde Jaze Dacquiri and will show in the yearling fillies class at the State 4-H Horse Show.

4-H in Pennsylvania is coordinated by Penn State Cooperative Extension through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. 4-H programs are open to all boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 18 regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or disability.
