U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant (E-5) Michael S. Weber was deployed to Iraq in June for a six-month assignment.
Weber, the son of Garry and Maxine Weber, of Corry, is trained in civil engineering, aircraft lighting and maintenance, and combat.
He was enrolled in the building trades at Corry Area High School and graduated in 2001.
Weber was an honor graduate from Triangle Tech-Erie in 2003 with an associate degree in maintenance electricity and construction technology.
He joined the Air Force in May 2003.
Weber received his basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio Texas and technical training at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He has completed special training classes in Wisconsin, Texas, Florida, South Dakota, and North Carolina.
Weber has received several accommodation medals and certificates of promotion.
He has also served in the Middle East in Qatar from July 2005 to September 2005; in Afghanistan from October 2005 to January 2006; and in Kuwait from May 2007 to September 2007.
Weber was recently reassigned to Seymour-Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina, from Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, South Dakota, where he had been stationed for five years.
