Zoey Howell, 12, of Spartansburg, recently competed in the Crawford County 4-H Round Up with her horse Mistaken Melodee.

The duo won first place in the W/T western horse pleasure and second place in the W/T western horse equitation.

Those performances qualified Howell to compete at the district IX competition, which was held in Harlansburg.

There, Howell and Melodee won district champion in the W/T western pleasure horse, and placed seventh out of 15 in the W/T western horse equitation.

Additionally, Howell competed in the 4-H production  horse show with her horse, Don’t Skippa Sweet Te, where they placed first in registered quarter horse yearling mare.

Howell and Te will compete in the Pennsylvania State Horse Show in Harrisburg in late October.
