Sparta seniors take princess cruise

Members of the Sparta Senior Citizens pose for a picture in front of the Victorian Princess in Erie after a lunch cruise.

Twenty-seven members of the Sparta Senior Citizens participated in a lunch cruise aboard the Victorian Princess, a paddle boat on lake Erie.

Those who attended reported the weather was ideal for the trip with sunny and clear skies.

In other club news, the Canadohta Lake Seniors hosted a picnic for the Sparta group.

The event was held indoors because of the weather. Participants played games, exchanged gifts and a meal was served.

Sparta members were reminded that the Spartansburg Fair begins Sept. 6. Seniors will hold a bake sale the morning of Sept. 7 at the fairgrounds until the items are sold out.

Senior Citizens Day at the fair will be Sept. 10 with games and the crowning of the senior king and queen.

All seniors are encouraged to attend.
