Two Corry Area High School graduates are the recipients of an Art Council Auxiliary Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.

Whitney Walters, a 2009 graduate of Corry Area High School, is enrolled at Edinboro University and pursuing a bachelor of science degree in animation.

In high school, she was active in senior high student council, History Club, National Honor Society, manager and swimmer on the varsity swim team, and served as a homeroom representative and secretary.

Walters is the daughter of Terri Walters and David Walters.

Samantha Wright, a 2009 graduate of Corry Area High School, is enrolled at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Fla., and pursuing a bachelor or science degree in motion and design.

She graduated from high school with academic recognition, and was active in student council and Protecting Paws.

Wright helped design and paint scenery for school plays, and designed and painted decorations for prom her junior year.

She also volunteered for many projects at the First Presbyterian Church of Corry.

Wright is the granddaughter of Stephen and Elsie Diduch of Corry.
