Recent graduates of Mercyhurst College in Corry say they likely would not have pursued a degree had the opportunity not been available through the Corry Higher Education Council.
Four “non-traditional” adult students ranging in age from 27 to 42, and one traditional-age student graduated either this spring or last fall from Mercyhurst-Corry with associate degrees in Business Administration. Some attended part time over a period of years, others on a full-time basis. Most did so while raising families and working.
“My kids got older and I wanted to do something different than waitress all my life,” said Christina Jewell, 35, of Corry and the mother of five. “I thought it would give my kids some encouragement, too.”
