The Community Blood Bank and Corry Memorial Hospital will be hosting a community blood drive Oct. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Appointments are not necessary. Donors are encouraged to walk into the bloodmobile.

The Community Blood Bank is the only supplier of blood to the hospitals and patients in Erie County.

To donate, residents must be at least 17 years old or 16 years old with a signed Community Blood Bank parental consent form.

Donors must also weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health.

Donors must have not given blood for at least 56 days and photo ID is required.

The entire process usually takes no more than 45 minutes.
