Spartansburg Community Fair officials have announced the winners of four baking contests that were judged during this year’s fair week.

Betty Smith of Corry won the angel food cake contest, which is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Egg Quality Assurance Program. There were five entries the category.

As the winner, Smith will now use her recipe to compete in the Pennsylvania State Farm Show, which will be held in January.

Trevor Brubaker of Union City was the Blue Ribbon Apple Pie winner. That category had a total of eight entries.

The 22nd annual contest was sponsored by the Pennsylvania Apple Marketing Board, the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs.

Brubaker has qualified to compete with his recipe at the state farm show.

Cheryl Durlin of Pittsfield was the first-place winner of the Hershey’s Cocoa Classic Cake Baking Contest, which had a total of 13 entries.

As the winner, Durlin will compete with her recipe at the state farm show.

Tasia Sutter of Spartansburg was the winner of the Hershey’s Cocoa Classic Cookie/Brownie/Bar Contest., which had a total of 16 entries.

Sutter will also compete in the state farm show with her recipe.
