I found out that runner/coach Shawn Wiler graduated from Corry Area High School in 2012.

After a tune-up last Saturday, Big Brother Bob is making its official return after a six-year hiatus. The guys will be performing tonight at the Fork and Barrel from 8:30 p.m. to midnight — with no cover charge.

I was impressed to see to see Theresa Williams at the D-10 volleyball match Tuesday in Meadville. Her husband, Chip, was refereeing the first match. He’s been an official for over 30 years.

Jane and Larry Tucci were honored at a surprise 50th anniversary party at the American Legion. Jane is Jean Van Tassel’s twin sister.

Jean is proud of her son, Jeremy, for bagging a 10-point buck with a bow and arrow on Baker Hill.

Happy anniversary to Diane and Jim Eshelman, Preston and Shannon’s mom and dad.

Sorry I missed former Corry Police Chief Frank Carnegie when he stopped by The Journal the other day.

Glad to learn that Kaity McCray is OK after an accident in her white Mercedes Benz. A car in front of her swerved to miss a deer and she swerved to miss that car. I saw the video report on WJET TV.

I hear that Austin Goodsel is doing a natural broadcasting on the sports stream site at Juniata College for the women's volleyball season. He'll be playing when the boys team takes the court.

I see Popo is back to work, at least his car is parked on Center Street.

I crossed paths with Irv King on my trip to Clymer Central School the other day. Irv is returning to the post of head boys basketball coach after Dan White resigned. Irv knows a thing or two about basketball because he's seen a thing or two (like Farmers Insurance).

Hats off to Ben Long for taking first place in the 1500 meters in Villanova at the Special Olympics state fall fest.

Hey, Marines, remember tomorrow is the informal gathering at the Corry VFW at 1 p.m. to honor the corps' birthday.

Finally, to coach Kelly Goodsel and his volleyball players, thanks for the ride. Unless you win the state championship, you lose your last match of the season.
