The Corry Trap Team Community Shoot fundraiser was another success Sunday at the Corry Rod & Gun Club. Derek Mitchell had the highest score, Chad Moon the lowest and the Corry Trap Team had the highest team score (no surprise there). I saw that Viking Plastics had quite a turnout of shooters.

Congrats to Emily Sue Hazeltine and Taylor Corbett on their wedding Saturday and reception at the Corry American Legion. I'm told that Rev. Jerry Fisher did a great job.

Birthday wishes today to Beth Shrout (now 37), Jim Davis (65), Scottie Frisina and Dean English, tomorrow to Lori Babcock and Bill Raupach. Andy Sventek celebrates on Thursday.

On Sunday, Oct. 18, from noon-5 p.m. at the VFW there will a benefit in the pavilion for Roberta “Bobbi” Anderson.

I finally met Sheldon Holton the other night in the parking lot of The Pub.

Happy 24th anniversary to Brian and Tina DiFonzo.

I see Tim and Jim Bracken are now 60.

This Friday the United Fund Small Business Blitz starts at 10 a.m. As of Oct. 3, Corry's United Fund was at 41% of its goal at $24,892.

Boy, Kim Haner sure does a lot of canning - and she claims she's now done.

Stan Komenda's birthday is on Thursday and he's thinking of playing bingo at the VFW. That starts at 6 p.m.

Trish Sawyer celebrated her 40th birthday last night at the VFW and Roger Grape his 90th on Saturday. Yes, Roger once lived across the street from Miss Pond who lived on the corner of Brook and Spring streets.

Are you enjoying the fall colors as the leaves change? They were sure on display last night at Sheen Field during the Corry boys soccer match.
