The journey is almost complete for the Climax A-313 train that was in Alaska. After talking with Tom VanTassel, the train is now in North East getting its final inspection before heading to Corry. "That should be soon," Tom tells me.

The Spring Creek Sportsman's Club is hosting a pancake breakfast on Sunday, Oct. 18, from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Admission is by donation.

The Corry Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a build-a-scarecrow contest on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 3-4:30 p.m. at Cambridge Corry. Sticks and straw will be provided. Kids should come in costume. Cambridge residents will vote on best costumes. You must pre-register by this Thursday by calling Rebekah at 215-518-3098.

The Corry Otters swim team will hold an orange and black meet on Oct. 24.

Birthday wishes today to Fran Faith (70), Bob Swart (71) and Tim Gates, and belated wishes yesterday to my cousin Chris Cobb and Susie Woodworth.

Congrats to Rachel McCray and Jordan Lyon on getting married. They are off to Jamaica on their honeymoon.

That fundraiser for Roberta "Bobbi" Anderson is this Sunday at the VFW pavilion from noon to 5 p.m. It's a spaghetti and meatball dinner.

The final chicken BBQ at the American Legion is also on Sunday starting at 11 a.m. until sold out.

I see that Preston Eshelman had a "change of heart" thanks to his sister, Shannon.
