The annual Stuff the Truck with Toys for Tots event is set for Dec. 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at DAVID Corry Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. It's in conjunction with the United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Friends and neighbors are invited to bring in the unwrapped toys they have collected to provide for children ages 3-17 in need.

There are numerous drop-off sites running through Dec. 4. They include The Corry Journal, Corry City Hall, fire & police stations, Dollar General, Campbell Trucking, Corry Rubber, Labor Club, Leisure Time, Rossbacher Insurance, D&R Transportation, Corry Concrete, Northwest Bank, Family Dentistry, Great Lakes Mfg., D&E Machining, Family Dollar, VIP Machining, Corry Manufacturing, DAVID Corry, Walmart and Corry Micronics.

Kudos to Mary Norton for posting photos of the junior bowlers.

Christmas came early last weekend at the VFW where pets got their photos taken (by Jill Burr). Ed Kiehart and Preston Eshelman donned the Santa suits. Preston said his was his dad's and they got it at Fisher's Big Wheel. Thanks to Ashley Ongley for organizing the event.

This Wednesday, Nov. 25, is the 25th anniversary for Brenda and JP Catalfu. Someone even gave them 25 cents (a quarter).

This Monday at Corry Connections, 124 N. Center St., Beth Shrout will be hosting a class to make a couple polymer clay Christmas ornaments. They can be personalized for gift giving. This class is for ages 10 and up.

Belated birthday wishes to Arden Earll who turned 96 on Wednesday. And to Bill Mancino, plus Jackie Berkhous and Candi Carrier who celebrated yesterday along with Terry Mihalko and Johnny Crispin. Mark "Chud" Chludzinski's birthday is today. Celebrating tomorrow are Jen Yatsko, Jean Brooks, Sherry Anderson and Kansas City Chiefs fan Jen Almeda. Monday birthdays belong to Tonja Messinger, Tammy Rogers, Jeff Zajac and Julie King.

Congrats to Cassandra and Craig Jaquith, recent newlyweds, on buying their house.

‪Former Corryite Aidan Clark was named‬ second team all-conference at linebacker. He's the son of Leigh-Anna and Nathan Clark and they live in Jonesborough, Tenn. I remember when she took baseball photos from the press box at Bracken Field.

Happy 21st anniversary to Aundrea and Travis Proctor.

Sorry to see the passing of Grace Lutz. She was a sister to Phillip, Frank and Joe Amoroso.

The VFW is holding a bingo benefit for Mike Short today with limited tickets. They cost $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Doors open at 5 p.m., bingo at 6 p.m. Contact Adrian at 964-0582.

Channel 98.9 FM is teaming up with Sander's Markets and the Salvation Army to help families in need this holiday season. There's a food drive at Sander's today through 5 p.m.
