I made a trip to Bowl-Aire Lanes last night during the John Woodard Classic League. It was great to see so many familiar faces. While the pandemic has hit hard in many ways, bowling continues to be a great way to meet friends and opponents in a fun fashion.

Belated birthday wishes to John Dyne and Dave Wetmore, plus Pat Munn, Dottie Morgan, Connie Messinger and Cyndy Munsee. Happy birthday today to Jane Galbreath Cowell, tomorrow to Joe Marrs and classmate George Fox (who is now older than me by a few months). Brady Deuink and Mike Calderone celebrate on Friday.

Mark and Lori Weidner would like to wish their very soon to be (four days to be exact) daughter-in-law Adrian Baressi a happy birthday on Wednesday. They are so excited for the big day.

Jack Hanrahan is retiring after 30 years as a photojournalist with the Erie Times-News. Like me, he's a graduate of Point Park University. He was spotted in Corry at many athletic events and recently did a shoot on the Corry Area Food Pantry. He'll be missed.

Sympathy to the family and friends of Sophie Girovsky.

I see that Phyllis Maloney Nelson is selling tickets for the Corry Regional Fire Company’s gun raffle and turkey party that is set for Nov. 6 at the Columbus Social Hall. There are 10 prizes and raffles. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 each or three for $25.

The Otters swim team has started practices. Coach Danielle Wood notes that practices are closed to parents/family. "It is important that coaches aren't distracted during swim practices due to the volume of swimmers and our coaches being the responsible lifeguard on deck," Danielle said.

The Erie SeaWolves baseball team will host an end-of-season Yard Sale at UPMC Park on Friday from noon until 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Lots of jerseys and souvenirs.

Todd Upperman was all smiles as his L.A. Rams defeated defending champion Tampa Bay this past Sunday in the NFL.

Happy sixth wedding anniversary to Susan and Dan Crawford. It looks good for Lil' Abner in fantasy baseball.

I hardly ever miss Quick Pitch on the MLB Network. But I found out that Curt VanderSchaaff never misses it, even taping the early morning show.

Musician Daland Perry will be playing at Corry Connections for First Friday.

Finally, I loved all the photos posted today for National Sons Day. Moms sure love their sons.
