Santa Claus is coming to the city park this Sunday at 4 p.m. He will arrive on a firetruck and go to the gazebo where he will hand out hats, mittens and candy to the kids. The mittens for kids event is organized by the Corry Kiwanis Club and the Key Club will be there to help. Cookies and hot cocoa will also be served. Parents can take photos.

We lost a good man in the passing of Gary Hunt. Not only was he a good policeman, he was good for the community in many ways. Sympathy to his family and friends.

The Salvation Army of  Corry is having a free Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow from 11 a.m. to noon with takeout from noon to 12:45 p.m. If possible, phone them at 814-664-7100.

Happy birthday today to Tonja Messinger, Julie King, Jeff Zajac, Tammy Rogers and Margaret Zaphiris. Tomorrow to Corey Rhodes, Thursday to Keith Willis and Charlotte Froncek and Friday to Dave Brown and Mike Theuret.

Belated wishes to Jackie Berkhous, Candi Carrier, Jen Yatsko, Jean Brooks, Sherry Anderson, Jen Almeda, Alexa Bowen, Patsy Nichols and Ruth Ann Grice.

I received my first ever Thanksgiving card from the Crostons, Jackson, Miranda, Ruby the dog and Izzy the cat.

I understand Sophia Wolf, even at age 3, has become an expert at picking football games.

Richard Skalos  was in north Texas and Harbor Island in the north San Juan islands. He says he'll see everyone next summer.

Congrats to Dave McCray on his 300 game last week at Bowl-Aire Lanes, his seventh perfect game.

And a correction from Bowl-Aire. Beaver Smith notes that Saturday was the Boozers and Losers League.

Saturday was Dru and Rhonda Blount's 42nd anniversary and birthday wishes to Rhonda.

Did you know that in five of the last six years, Corry's volleyball team won the state title (2016) or lost to the state champion (North Catholic twice)?

That surprise 90th birthday for Arlene Bemis is this Saturday from 1-4 p.m. at the Relevant Church. It's supposed to be a surprise so don't tell her.

Kudos to the girls in the Pink Racks who put up the Christmas decorations in downtown Corry.

Finally, we all have a lot to be thankful for. So happy Thanksgiving.
