Congrats to Lt. Colonel Bridget Bemis on her promotion again making her parents, Lynne and Phil, proud.

This Friday at 7:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Parish Center, the Corry Area Arts Council presents "Magic Man Industry — Jamie Petrush." Tickets are on sale at Painted Finch, Bloomers and Cobblestone Inn and Suites. It's an event for the whole family.

Also on Friday, South 40 Acoustic at Corry VFW from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Next week they'll be at the Union City American Legion.

Next Wednesday at the Moose Club is a cash bingo with doors opening at 5 p.m., the first games at 6 p.m. Proceeds support St. Thomas Church June 2020 Youth Mission Trip to assist the elderly and needy with home repair and restoration projects in the Adirondacks.

Betsy Grinder celebrated her birthday the other day and she's stuck on 29.

It may be winter today, but spring-like temperatures (50-plus) are on tap for this weekend. Snow kidding.

Birthday wishes to JoAnn Amoroso Leidolph who drove across the country to join her sisters in caring for her mom, Rose Amoroso.

Belated birthday wishes to Mike and Tonja Schrecengost this past Sunday. Special thanks to Mike, and his brother Joe, for keeping the Corner Fantasy Football League going. Todd and Todd won the regular-season title without making a roster move all season.

Also belated wishes to former Corry football coach Homer DeLattre, Marj Willison and Dave Cambria. Angie Whaley’s special day is on Friday.

Kelsey McCray turned 9 yesterday.

Sympathy to the family and friends of Robert Hammond, Nancy Brooks, Troy Walker and Carolyn Root.

Did you notice that Ground Hog Day will fall on 02-02 2020?

Thanks to Alice and Sparky, my wife and I are members of the Bucket Brigade at the Union City American Legion. That's where I met Nancy and Mike who live at Canadohta Lake and have the New Orleans connection. Probably they are crying over the Saints loss.

Finally, I’ve been told that there are just two nominations for the Corry Athletic Hall of Fame. I find it hard to believe that Mike Cragg and Dale Henderson aren’t in the HOF. And I’m sure there are others deserving.
