Congratulations to Corry graduate Lindsay Zajac for taking first place IHSA in college. It was held at Valley Forge Military Academy and college in Wayne, Pa. She was showing with the Delaware Valley University IHSA team.

I saw that the Eshelman family was at Sunday's Buffalo Bills game.

Belated birthday wishes to Darlene McChesney, Beth Kelsey McCray, Judy Silvis (is she really 80?) and Tyler Burlew (he’s really 20).

Happy anniversary to Nikki and Shawn Sandstrom.

The Corry VFW is hosting a kids trick-or-treat Halloween party from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 31. There's free hot dogs and hot chocolate plus treats. The club is also hosting an adult Halloween dance on Oct. 26, open to the public. There's live music by The Necessary Experience. It runs from 8 p.m. to midnight with costume judging at 10 p.m.

Volunteer football coach Dan Clark and I were talking the other night about how high school games used to kick off at 8 p.m., except Saturday at 1 p.m. in Warren. And junior varsity games were played on Monday night.

Did you see that the Clark Bar is making a return?

Becky Frazier, Jen Lesher and John Brundage have birthdays today, celebrating tomorrow are Ralph “Mr. 49er fan” Amoroso (No. 82, although he looks 49), my aunt Alice (who always remembers my birthday), Beth Rose Dolan and my cousin, Dick Root. Celebrating on Friday are Dianne Hamilton and Mike Sita.

The Corry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary’s fall and craft/vendor show is this Saturday at the First United Methodist Church running 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There are expected to be 75 crafters and vendors on hand.

Corry grads Brooke Joncas (Penn State Behrend) and Megan Dennis (Allegheny) will meet up Friday on the college volleyball court.

Clymer grad Henry Sullivan turned 20 today.

Leah Fox, a graduate of Erie Collegiate Academy and Point Park University, is slated to sing the national anthem at tonight's World Series game. She's part of the U.S. Air Force band.

Hope that Steve Frisina is soon off the IR list. I missed him refereeing with cousin LJ yesterday.
